Fine Art and Paper Collage
Thanks for stopping by!
I'm Elissa! Here's a little bit about me and my artistic process-
I grew up and currently live in New England, and I believe that region's lush landscapes and changing seasons have made a lasting impact on my work, my content, compositions, and color choices.
My journey as an artist began with a focus on drawing and painting, especially exploring the abstracted human form and its relationship to environment. But as my practice has developed, so has my art.
These days, my current work centers on constructing layered, dimensional collages responding to the natural world. I meticulously hand-cut, paint, and layer archival papers to create depth and movement within my compositions, inviting an interplay between light, shadow, and texture. These works are quietly autobiographical, evoking "remembered landscapes"and marking the passage of seasons, times of day, and significant moments.
I live and work on the North Shore of Boston, where I enjoy experiencing the natural world with my family.
