"In these collages, each paper fragment is layered with pencil, watercolor, or acrylic paint to hint at forms in nature, carefully cut and then shaped to contribute to larger compositions. The process is delicate and repetitive, challenging and rewarding my focus, my hands, and my compositional eye. These collages explore paper as a material, as it is twisted and molded into fluid shapes that challenge the conventional possibilities of 'works on paper'. I seek to play with lightness, heaviness, color, intimacy, and nostalgia."
